Privacy Policy
Last updated 3 October 2026. This explains what Layzbooks collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
Layzbooks ("we", "us") makes the Layzbooks album app, the layzbooks.com website and the album design, printing and delivery services. Questions about your data go to [email protected].
What we collect
- Your account: your name, studio name, email address, phone number and the country you choose beside it.
- Where you signed up from: the country, region and city our network provider (Cloudflare) reads from your internet address. It is approximate and never your exact address.
- Log-ins: the kind of device and the rough location of each log-in, so we can email you if someone else gets into your account.
- Your password, but only as a one-way scramble. Nobody at Layzbooks can read it.
- Photos and album designs, only when you send them to us for printing or for us to design (Press, Curate and Signature).
- Order details: what you order, and the delivery name, address and phone number for printed albums.
- Notes and approvals your clients leave on online proofs.
Albums you design in the app stay on your computer. They only reach us if you choose to send them.
Why we use it
- To run your account and keep it secure, including sign-up codes, password resets and log-in alerts.
- To design, print and deliver the albums you order, and to contact you about them.
- To show prices and options for your country.
- To answer you when you contact us.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who helps us
We share only what each one needs to do its job:
- Cloudflare, which carries and protects traffic to layzbooks.com.
- OVH, the company whose servers host our online services.
- Our own email service, which sends account and order emails.
- Have I Been Pwned, which checks whether a new password has appeared in a known data leak. Only the first five characters of a scrambled fingerprint of the password are sent, never the password itself.
- The print labs and delivery companies that make and deliver your albums, when you order prints.
- A payment provider, when you pay for an order.
How long we keep it
Your account information is kept while your account is open. Photos and designs you send us are kept for as long as your order needs, including any reprint, and then deleted. You can ask us to delete your account and everything in it at any time, and we will do it within 30 days, except where the law makes us keep a record (for example, of a payment).
How we protect it
Every connection to Layzbooks is encrypted. Passwords are scrambled with bcrypt. New accounts confirm their email with a code, repeated wrong passwords are paused, and changing your password signs out every other device.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop us using it for a purpose. Email [email protected] and we will reply within 30 days. These rights come from the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and, for people in the EU or UK, the GDPR.
Children
Layzbooks is for professionals and is not meant for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you by email or in the app before the change applies.
